With the growing concern across the globe about pollution and global warming, electric vehicles are becoming more desirable and affordable to the general public. There are however certain issues that need addressing for this technology to really take off.

The main concern for the majority of motorists is that the range the vehicle is capable of on a single charge is insufficient for their needs. The lack of public charging points is a huge stumbling block especially if you live in a rural location. Even if you live in a town or city there may be concerns if you do not have a driveway and have to park on the roadside away from your property.

If you own a caravan and regularly tow it to a caravan site, you are unlikely to be able to use an electric car to do this as to date there are only a few models capable of doing this.

Although the cost of electric vehicles has come down in recent years there are few available in the cheaper used car market where many families source their cars. One solution to address this problem is to purchase a petrol hybrid vehicle. These are more readily available and can be cheaper than a solely electric car.
