A Car head unit is the central control system for your in car audio. It is the main point of entertainment in your car while driving safely and being attentive to the road. From visual display to outputs, there are many factors to take into account when choosing one.
The space you have on your car interior will be key deliberation. You can then choose between a standard single DIN (about 50 mm) or a double DIN unit (about 100 mm). From there the actual control surface of the unit and the manner in which you navigate around the unit for configuration and listening will be down to personal preference. So take your time in choosing it.
Within your head unit, you then will need to think what is the most common format you will be listening to / viewing in your car. Will you want a feature to play DVD’s, CD’s or tapes? Or would you like a direct input into your MP3 player, USB or iPod?
Make sure that whatever features you choose on your head unit, you check the power attributes. Having the correct level of power for your system will impact the audio output and drain your car battery a lot quicker.
