Cars are often subject to break downs and mechanical failures some of which we are not warned about and will happen for no apparent reason out of the blue. Other problems develop over time and we may have had warnings about them which we have ignored. If you have a light come up on your dash board, even if it is intermittent, it is worth getting it checked out as soon as possible. Many modern cars have a function which will automatically put a car in limp mode if a fault is found. This means the car is limited to the acceleration and speed it can do and often the car will only go out of limp mode if the fault is fixed. Often hooking a car up to a diagnostics machine will help to identify if there is a fault and where the issue is, making it a lot easier to fix.
