Restoring a vehicle can be a lot of fun and if done correctly you can sometimes make a bit of money out of it too. Restoring vehicles is not for the faint hearted and needs to be undertaken by someone who knows what they are doing. Often it is classic cars that are restored and these can sometimes be found in barns. Many people often inherit houses and it is often the case that the car was left covered over for some years. If they car has not moved for a certain amount of time it may be that you need spend a lot of money to not only get it mechanically working as it should but also to get the interior and paintwork up to scratch.

When sourcing parts for restorations you will need to try and find the original parts if possible. This means scouring scrap yards and specialist companies that may have the part you need. If buying from a specialist company you may have to spend a little more than you thought but often you will get some sort of warranty.

If you want to restore a vehicle but have no previous experience then you should take the car to a garage that specialises in restoration if done incorrectly can make it unrepairable. Always have a budget in mind and try and work out total worse case scenario costs before starting the project.
